Welcome
to the City of Tomball Permits and
Inspections Department
The Permits and Inspections Department is
responsible for the code compliance of all construction in the
City of Tomball. We review all plans for residential
construction , remodeling, additions and new commercial and
tenant change outs.
We also provide Code Enforcement services for
the City of Tomball such as abatement of junk vehicles, high
grass and weeds, illegal signs.
We provide support for the citizens of the City
of Tomball and inspect their construction to make sure it meets
minimum building codes.
Construction Permit Applications and Plans:
NOTE: Construction plans with the appropriate design professional's seal
must be submitted for review for all permits issued by the City of Tomball. These plans
must reflect all materials to be used and the exact dimensions of the project. All
commercial applications must submit two copies.

Fire Permits:

Fire Prevention Permit
- Use this permit to apply or renew a fire prevention permit.

Fuel
Tank Abandonment, Installation, or Removal - Use this
permit if you are conducting any operations regarding
aboveground or underground fuel storage tanks.

Suppression and Detection Permit
- Use this permit for the installation of Suppression and
Detection systems such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems,
hood extinguishment systems, or paint booths

Trench burning permit
- Submit this with your plans for commercial land clearing –
MUST BE APPROVED BY FIRE MARSHAL.

Notice to Contractors – This provides information to
developers, contractors, and builders to the requirements
and permits needed for construction of commercial buildings
in the City of Tomball. These are the requirements and
procedures from the Fire Marshal’s Office

Vendors Permits:
The
following permits are issued through the City Secretary's
office. Each of these must be turned into the City Secretary’s
office at 401 Market Street
