More than 200 wounded warriors and active duty military bicyclists are coming to town on Sunday, April 19th as the “Ride 2 Recovery Texas Challenge” returns to Tomball for a second year. Tomball will be the group’s first stop in its multi-day ride from Houston to Fort Worth. The “Ride 2 Recovery Challenge” provides physical and mental rehabilitation for our nation’s injured veterans and healing heroes with cycling as the core activity. Escorted by the Tomball Police Department, the group is expected to arrive in Tomball around 9:30 a.m., and will enter town from the east on FM 2920. The group will take a short break at the historic downtown Depot before continuing along Main Street to Four Corners, and then north on Business Highway 249 into Montgomery County. Mayor Gretchen Fagan is asking Tomball residents to honor these brave men and women by welcoming them at the Depot, or else lining Main Street and Business Highway 249 to cheer them on as they ride past.
